Education and Training

I received my Master of Arts in Psychology degree from Antioch University Seattle, in 2007. Prior to training in psychology, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese, both from the University of Washington. Worldwide multicultural perspectives  continue to inform my understanding of human motivation and behavior.

Through my counseling internship, and employment in community mental health, and subsequent private practice, I have gained experience in working with diverse adults, adolescents, and children, many with significant, chronic mental health challenges, and socio-economic obstacles.

Since graduation, I have continued with study and training. I completed a two year professional seminar series of Jungian study with the North Pacific Institute of Analytical Psychology, (now named C.G. Jung Institute of Seattle); have taken Sandplay seminars, and workshops with  the Sandplay Therapists of America, and  am currently engaged in further Sandplay training. Additionally, I participate in ongoing trainings sponsored by the Jungian Psychotherapists Association (of which I am a member, and President Emerita). In 2014, as a result of Washington State's newly adopted Matt Adler Suicide Prevention Act, I participated in a workshop on working with suicidal clients, presented by Wellspring Family Services.

Licensure

In  2010, I attained licensure in Washington State. My Mental Health Counselor License number is LH 60184804.
